What Students Are Saying About Retreat

  • “I went into this retreat full of anxiety and worry and was fearful of my future and what’s in store for me. I prayed on it and left the retreat feeling so light and peaceful. I realized that everything is in Gods hands and his plan is the best plan.”

    - Rutgers Freshman

  • “Retreat was such a memorable experience. The little pockets of joy I experienced were as simple as seeing two of my friends embrace each other in a warm hug or to see people in awe before the Blessed Sacrament in adoration, looking up, knowing that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. As I watched Jesus’ love outpour to the people around me, I knew Rutgers Catholic was a place to experience true encounters with the Lord.”

    - Rutgers Junior

  • “Being in a small group showed me the true strength of Christian community and the genuine love my group had for one another... One of my favorite moments was staying up all night at adoration where I experienced a powerful and unforgettable encounter with Jesus. It was in that moment where I truly believed that the Lord is real.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Rutgers Catholic retreat is an awesome weekend away with about 100 of your closest friends. There are talks about being Catholic with clear explanations of why we do what we do. So, if you're a little new or just out of practice with your faith, don't worry. We'll clue you in on everything we're doing and give you lots of chances to ask questions.

You can expect Mass, prayer, and small groups. We also take time out for sports, games, and general recreation time. There's also quite time for you to hang out by the water or talk with friends, a campfire for making s'mores, and plenty of good food. Everybody likes something different about retreats, but in all the years we've been hosting them, we don't know of anyone who was sorry they came!
